Swans Golf Day – Attendees

Posted by Vietnam Swans on December 12, 2007

Royal Ivanhoe Golf Links, MelbourneThe list of attendees for the 2007 Vietnam Swans Annual Golf Classic (4th day of the Boxing Day Test Match, the 29th December), in Melbourne is shaping up as a real “Who’s Who” of the Swans.

Former Presidents Daryl “Smooth” Taber and Dave “Flyer” Kainey (and a mate) will be there with current Prez, Phil “Fabbo” Johns (will the golf course be big enough for their three egos?). Also coming are Chris “Snags” Canty, Ryan “Organiser” Jeffrey, Clint “Bar Fly” Bryant and from memory, the Lady Killer, Willer Martin.

This list will grow much longer and stronger. Stay tuned.

If you want to come along, email the Swans to register your interest.

The prestige of this event just keeps climbing. Rapidly becoming one of our favourite events, with dual-accreditation on both the Australian and Asian PGA tours.

The inception of the “party hole” on numerous other PGA events this year will easily be usurped by this 19 party hole gut-buster. The winner will gain the ultimate golfing respect, knowing that this is the harshest test of mind and body in world golf today.

    Bring it ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Are there any ex-swans living in Perth or will they be in Perth on the 29th? I’m keen to make the golf event a national event and not just limit it to Melbourne. We could tee off on a suitable course and compare notes during/after on here.

Nestled in the Yarra Valley between the Boulevard at Ivanhoe and the Yarra River are the majestic rolling fairways of the Ivanhoe Public Golf Course. Play your game, then afterwards sit in the cafe (inside or outside), enjoying a refreshing drink and sumptuous meal or snack overlooking the fairways.

    How to get there

Melways map reference. Map 31, J10.

Heading east on the Eastern Freeway from the city, exit at Burke Road. Turn left at the lights. Travel a short distance then turn left again onto the Boulevard. Drive along the Boulevard, turning left into Vasey Street. The car park is straight ahead.

From Lower Heidelberg Road, turn into the Boulevard, drive along the Boulevard, turning right into Vasey Street. The car park is straight ahead.
