New venue for 2012 Asian Champs
Posted by Vietnam Swans on June 10, 2012
The Thailand Tigers have just advised that there will be a change of venue for the 2012 Asian Championships originally slated for the Patana School, Bangkok.
Club President, Yoda, has written that:
“The playing surface at Patana School will be under repair in August and there are no guarantees that it will be finished in time for the Champs, scheduled for 11th August. In the best interests of the tournament, we have decided to move the event to the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya, about 25 minutes out of Pattaya town.”
Pattaya is a 90 minute drive from Bangkok International Airport.
In other news, the match between the Vietnam Swans and Cambodian Eagles, originally booked for 30 June, has been changed to 21 July following a request from the Cambodian Eagles.

Surely the Swannies bein the mega club of not only Asia but the AFL the venue should have been immediately transferred to the MCG surface.
Scheduled for that day are St. Kilda (ok I suppose) and Melbourne (would struggle against the Thailand Tigers yet alone the Vietnam Swans) to play at 1.45pm. Hopefully common sense will prevail, and half way through the tournament, when the Aus-kickers have a crack they could use one half of the oval & the Saints Vs Demons game could take place on the other half. Then all the punters could get back to what they had paid good money to see the Vietnam Swans and the National President toe poke some goals!!
A bitterly disappointed fan..
I’m sure Andrew and the AFL seeing this blog post and being the caring community driven organisation that it is will come to the party and rectify the situation.
Go you Swannies!!
