Not even the Champs can stop Supercoach

The Champs is tantalisingly close now and Ross McRae confirms that not even this is enough to slow down Supercoach which is really starting to heat up…
With all attention set on the upcoming Asian champs, for those of us with some spare time, the Supercoach season has entered finals fever.
With only minor shuffling at the top of the table at the end of the league matches, the draw is out, and with many of the big name teams now finding form, these finals are going to be massive.
In the first Qualifying final Dave O’Shea is taking on Shannon Leahy’s Cows. While spending time all season at the top of the table, Dave will be finding himself concerned with the scores Shannon has been pumping out recently. The second Qualifying final has ex-Swannie great, Scott Stacey taking on our own goal kicking machine Nick Moger.
Moggy finished strong in the last few rounds and will be putting up a big round again. Winners of these Finals will be getting a week off, while the losers will be taking on the winners from the Elimination Finals the following week.
First Elimination Final finds Chris “Palauan” Batchelor taking on David “Daisy” Bourke, Daisy’s strategy has always been to hold trades late and have a lot of money in the bank for those final upgrades, he only just managed to scrape into the top 8 this year. The second Elimination round finds yours truly up against the entertainment machine Ryan “Revved up” Evans. While quite worrying on my position this entire year, I’ve managed to come home strong.
For those not up on their strategy in their coaching, the bottom 8 are also running through some finals, all competing for the prestigious title of Supermuppet 2012. The two Qualifying stages have Mark “Willy”
Williams up against Angus “Pest” McEwin and Dave ‘Angry’ Hadley against Danny “Monkey” Monk. Elimination games have newbies Mick “Best Bloke” Leahy against Paul “Livin’” Koch and Timmay ”CK” Clements facing off against Kristian “Harmie” Harmston.
So popular was the Supercoach that we were able to fill another league, the Magoos. In these finals Luke Miller is taking on Revo, and Bill Crang is facing off against Shannon. Elimination Finals have Darius and Josh matching up, with Moggy and myself the final match.
While not able to attend this year’s Asian Champs, I wish that all the lads have a safe and successful comp, with high efficiency percentages on disposals and only a few clangers. With plenty of trades on the bench for the Swans, I’m thinking finals fever will also be in line for these mighty birds.
Go you Swannies!!
