Australian Rules Football In Vietnam!

A tale of one club, two cities, two sets of training conditions

Posted by Vietnam Swans on October 17, 2012

Hanoi on the left, Saigon on the right. Training last Saturday…

Last Saturday in Hanoi, the Swannies took to the training field with the Celts Gaelic Club.

New recruit, Alex, took a few photos (see photo far left) including one of Hanoi President, cDan Hopkins (with footy and green vest).

Hanoi Coach, Ado, no stranger himself to the media, reports,

“Also, a big thanks to new Swannie, Alex, for taking a couple of snaps of last weekend’s training. With cDan all over the TV this week (watch this space…), a write-up in the Word magazine and Indochina Cup (ICC) posters to be going up soon, the Swannies are definitely out there in the media.

“Let’s keep it rocking into the ICC. It’s really shaping up now in true MSF (mega Swannies’ function) fashion!”

Meanwhile down south in HCMC, the Swannies were down under the water line. Torrential rain turned the two RMIT ovals into lakes. Eventually, the rain eased enough, a corner of one oval cleared and an impromptu match using half an oval was organised. Thanks to the Horn for photographing the memory!
