Farewell to Richard “Mighty” Quinn’s father. R.I.P.

Posted by Vietnam Swans on October 19, 2012

To Mighty’s Dad, RIP. From all the Swannies.

With great sadness, we advise that, last Sunday, Richard “Mighty” Quinn’s father passed away back in Australia.

The funeral was held yesterday and Mighty says that, “although it was emotional, it was really beautiful in other ways”.

As is the custom of our Club, we have offered to wear black armbands at our next match.

Mighty has replied that, “my Mum said that she would be very happy for the Swans to wear armbands in commemoration of my Dad”.

So, it is locked in. All the Swannies who take to the field against HMAS Sydney on Wednesday, 31 October, shall proudly wear black armbands in a gesture of solidarity with Mighty and his family.

Mighty adds that, “Dad is no longer suffering. May he rest in peace. Please give our regards to all the Club, and our thanks for the support during this time.”

Our deepest sympathies and condolences to you, Mighty, your mother and family.

We look forward to seeing you back here when you return, Mighty. And, we will play proudly on 31 October.

From all the Swannies.
