Saigon President of the Vietnam Swans gives the CEO of the Commonwealth Bank USD3,047.74 to transfer to the bushfire ravaged areas

This morning, Derrin Limbrick, the Saigon President of the Vietnam Swans gave the CEO of the Commonwealth Bank in Vietnam, Danny Armstrong, USD3,047.74 to transfer to the bushfire ravaged areas of Australia.

The money was raised at last weekend’s fundraiser co-hosted by the Bali Geckos and the Vietnam Swans. Fittingly, Derrin wore a Vietnam Swans hat and Danny wore a Bali Geckos hat.

At today’s exchange rates, the USD3,047.74 is worth AUD4,336.57. Danny has advised that the Commonwealth Bank, which has already donated AUD1million to the bushfire relief effort, has now transferred the money completely free of all bank charges and struck a mid-rate on the exchange rate (meaning the bank made “zero” from the transaction).

Thank you to all who contributed to the success of the event. A special thank you to the following sponsors who made a direct contribution to the fundraising efforts: Jetstar, Caravelle Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Equatorial Hotel, renow.com.vn,  Commonwealth Bank of Australia, JASPAS, RMIT University, Kim Hai Butchery, Jim Beam, La Vie Water, Cafe Latin and the Sydney Swans AFL Club.

All money raised has been sent to the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football Netball League which covers those areaas worst affected by the bushfires.
