Saigon’s VP, Mega Bretta Jotta, prepares to leave Vietnam
Posted by Vietnam Swans on February 6, 2013
It’s official.
The diminutive Brett “Mega” Jotta, with his mega sized heart, will leave Vietnam in the next fortnight to return to Australia.
Last Friday, the Swannies in Saigon met up at the Spotted Cow to farewell Brett, our Saigon Vice President.
Saigon President Nick Shiells and Swannies’ Skipper, Luke “Dukes” Creamer presented Mega with a Swannies’ farewell trophy with the inscription, You can leave the country but not the Club. Honk!
While Mega may be half sized, there is absolutely nothing that this little juggernaut does by half measures. For example, his training regime would often begin at 3 o’clock in the morning! Not surprisingly, it was Brett who played a key role in helping to raise the level of fitness and commitment at the Club to new levels.
On the field, Barefoot Brett (he often liked to play with bare feet) was unstoppable and considered the theory “the more you run, the more you tire” untested at best and an excuse at worst. Regardless of how many times the opposition slammed him to the ground, he would simply bounce back up onto his feet and start running again – Forrest Gump style.
Last year, following former Saigon President, Sammy Conroy’s departure, Mega ran an election campaign that even left Barack Obama scratching his forehead in amazement.
From everyone at the Vietnam Swans, we wish Brett and his lovely wife the very best in the next chapter of their lives. And remember, no half honkin’!
Go you Swannies!
