On Monday night, Danny Armstrong, Swans National Treasurer and General Director Vietnam for the of Australia, handed out Commonwealth Bank / Vietnam Swans travel bags to each of the Vietnam Swans travelling to this weekend’s Asian Champs in KL.
For added colour and controversy, each bag carries the player’s nickname (and in several instances, nicknames were discovered for the first time during the presentation ceremony!). Interestingly, while “Sleepy” and “Dopey” received guernseys, none of the other Seven Dwarfs were represented. In the fashion stakes, it was all about strides with “Mr Pants” and “Harry High Pants” figuring prominently. Some nicknames, like “Danny” (for Danny Armstrong) became controversial just because they weren’t controversial!
