The Hanoi President’s Update – 12 days before the 12th Champs
Posted by Vietnam Swans on August 1, 2011
With just 12 days to go before the 12th Annual Asian Champs in Bangkok, Daniel Hopkins, the Hanoi President, sends out an update.
Hi Boys. Firstly thanks to all involved in our game on the 23rd June, including our supporters who came out to the ground and then came to Don’s in the evening for the after match function. Really appreciated.
Another good hit out on both Thursday and Saturday last week. We are all showing improvement in both our skills and decision-making which is fantastic to see. Each of us know where we can improve so let’s try and work on those skill points as a team and as an individual in our last three training sessions before the Champs on 13 August.
Our hit out with the Saigon boys gave us a good body-on-body work out and a good understanding of each other’s game style. We will have our positions soon, as the coaching panel will be putting the final touches on our line up this week. This will also help with our training direction.
Dan K is back from enjoying a five week holiday frolicking around Europe and is now on board for the Champs which is great to hear and puts a little more UMF! into the line up.
Dan K will have a little fitness work for us on Thursday at the Australian Embassy and then Adrian will have some skills work as well. Both these guys are looking to have big first Champs (Adrian looking so good for the Champs he has picked up some modeling work). FINE!
We all need to be out at training in the last three sessions to come into the Champs as prepared as possible.
The Champs are going to be absolutely epic and having such a big Hanoi contingent is “fair dinkum unbelievable”. Great dedication to the Swannies by a relatively new group.
Let’s keep up the great work and watch it on show in two weeks.
Go you mighty Swans!
