Mgard mouthguards magnificent

Posted by Vietnam Swans on September 4, 2007

For the Asian Champs, very generously sponsored each Vietnam Swans player with a mouthguard each.

Despite reading the glowing scientific research about the mouthguards, Coach Scotty Stacey and Pres Phil Johns elected to wear their own lucky mouthguards during the Champs. But all that changed on the weekend’s match against the Hong Kong Dragons.

The verdict? Ah-mazing. You can actually wear the mouthguard without feeling like you’re about to gag. You can even yell out your team mate’s name and still make audible sense.

The Mgard mouthguards are a sensation because they are geuinely very, very comfortable.

If you’re looking for a new mouthguard, to quote Molly Meldrum, do yourself a favour and check out  mouthguards.

Singapore Airlines, Sydney Swans & the Vietnam Swans

Posted by Vietnam Swans on September 4, 2007

Yesterday, reported that a Sydney man bid AUD123,000 in an auction to be the first person to buy a seat on the first commercial flight of the world’s largest airliner, the Airbus A380. Julian Hayward was the successful bidder and for that price he gets to fly one-way, in first class, from Singapore to Sydney. Bargain.

On the same day, the Swans Matt Wenke sent a text message from Sydney confirming that he had collected a footy from the Sydney Swans which has been signed by all of their players. Matt will bring the footy back to Vietnam where it will be the prime piece of sporting memorabilia to be auctioned off at the Vietnam Swans 2007 AFL Grand Final Party in Hanoi.

A footy similar to that which has been donated by the Sydney SwansThe value of the footy has probably increased enormously following Sydney’s demolition job on the Hawks this weekend. Whether or not that has been enough to ensure that it fetches the same price as a Singapore Airlines Maiden Voyage price remains to be seen, Mind you, adding to the interest is the fact that the successful bidder will be the world’s first person to buy a piece of sporting memorabilia from the Vietnam Swans (previously Hanoi Swans) first ever Grand Final Party at the live telecast of the world’s largest Aussie Rules event, the AFL Grand Final.

Gee, if the lines were open right now, the Swans Blog would even put in a bid.

Gee Whiz, what if the Sydney Swans actually win the Grand Final…

How good is the AFL Grand Final??

The Vietnam Swans thank the Sydney Swans very much for their generous support of footy in Asia.

It’s a Sell Out in Saigon!

Posted by Vietnam Swans on September 4, 2007

Last Thursday, the Saigon Saints, organisers of the Vietnam Airlines Saigon Saints Grand Final Brunch, contacted the Vietnam Swans to advise that their event has sold out – 2 days before tickets were to have gone on sale to the public!

The Saigon Saints may not have played a game of football in years but they sure can organise a Grand Final event. Last year they were fully booked with 240 and had to turn away another 30 people at the door. This year they’ve gone and sold out more than a month prior to the bounce of the ball. How hot is footy in this town?

For those in Saigon who have missed out on getting tickets to the Saigon Saints event, do not despair. Other venues will screen the Grand Final.

Cafe Latin has confirmed to the Swans Blog that it will screen the Grand Final.

The Blue Gecko is likely to screen the Grand Final.

As details are confirmed by these (and other) venues, the Swans Blog will post updates to ensure that anyone wanting to watch the Grand Final live, can.

It’s going to be awesome.
