JASPAS, Hanoi puts Swans on Incentives

Posted by Vietnam Swans on July 12, 2007

Growds Growder who played such a vital role in the Swans recent attack on the Jim Beam at JASPAS in Hanoi last Friday has advised the Swans Blog that…

“Given the Swans fundraiser in Hanoi was such a hit, JASPAS (in the form of none other than Jim Tawa) has laid it all on the line.

“The crumpled, Jim Beam-stained document (to the side), signed by Big Jim and His Mightiness, Coach Scott Stacey, promises that if the Swans win their first and second games (with the margin in the second game being at least ten points), then JASPAS will throw an all food and beverage party (with “all” defined as beef and bourbon) for the Swans.

“As you can see, the document is covered by the well-known “Jim promised” legal terminology, that makes it watertight in all jurisdictions globally. This latter fact was attested to by Tara, an Australian lawyer present at the signing ‘ceremony’.

“If ever we needed even more motivation to pour our hearts into the event, this could be it.

“In a word, Swannies of Indochina (and considerably beyond), ‘awesome’ “.

We now know that our first game will be held against China in what our Tour Fines Master, Osama Pagaulenko has described as the “Communist Face Off”. China is relatively new to Asian footy. Our second game is against the battle hardened pioneers of Asian footy, the Jakarta Bintangs.

Who hasn’t got goose bumps?

M Gard sponsors 40 mouthguards for Swans

Posted by Vietnam Swans on July 12, 2007

The Vietnam Swans had been sending emails around everywhere looking for a place to purchase mouth guards in preparation for the Asian Champs. A few people knew where you had been able to buy them. Fewer still knew where you could currently buy them - especially at a reasonable price.

Enter , Austrade’s Commissioner in Saigon and Dr Bill Westerman of the Australiand mouthguard manufacturer, .

has donated 40 of their “Boil and Bite” mouthguards to the Club to ensure that every player will have peace of mind on Saturday – for two reasons:

1. If you have a good football brain but aren’t a rocket scientist, don’t worry. To mould the mouthguard for a pefect fit, all you have to do is boil it and then bite into it. Simple simon.

2. According to the Australian Dental Journal and British Journal of Sports Medicine, these mouthguards which feature air inclusions, offer up to 30 per cent more protection than other mouthguards currently available on the market.

Designed by practising dentist, Dr Westerman from Brisbane, mouthguards are used by a number of high profile sports teams including the Auckland Blues in Super 14 and and by many of Australia’s elite sportsmen and women playing AFL, Rugby Union, League and hockey.

Already mouthguards are distributed in the UK, Japan and New Zealand.  is seeking additional distributors worldwide.

, at Austrade in HCMC will be pleased to handle enquiries for distribution rights.

The Vietnam Swans are extremely appreciative of support which will allow us to safely compete in our first ever Asian Champs.

The JASPAS Party in Hanoi

Posted by Vietnam Swans on July 12, 2007

We’ve seen the official photos from last Friday’s Jim Beam bash in JASPAS, Hanoi - and we all wondered where all the people were and where all the action was. Yesterday, vietnamswans.com came across the photos they didn’t want you to see.

On 4 cds, there were approximately 4 billion photos. Not one of them didn’t have pictures of Jim Beam Swanettes (well, apart from the photo to the side). From feast to famine.

Below are a sample of photos from the night.
